Abstract
Fire incidents, gas leaks, and abnormal room temperature conditions remain significant threats in residential and industrial environments, potentially causing material damage and endangering human safety. To address these issues, this study proposes the development of an Arduino-based multi-hazard detection system capable of monitoring fire, gas concentration, and room temperature in real time. The system employs an Arduino microcontroller as the main controller, a flame sensor for fire detection, an MQ-2 sensor for gas leakage detection, and a DHT22 sensor for monitoring temperature and humidity. Monitoring results are displayed on an LCD and supported by LED indicators, a buzzer alarm, and a DC pump controlled through a relay module. When a flame is detected, the system automatically activates the buzzer and DC pump while displaying a warning message on the LCD. If gas concentration exceeds the predefined safety threshold, the LED indicator is triggered and a gas leakage alert is generated. Additionally, the system provides continuous temperature readings with visual indicators when the measured value falls outside the specified range. The system operates using an external 9 V battery supply and is designed with cost efficiency and ease of implementation in mind. Experimental results demonstrate that all system components respond appropriately to simulated hazard conditions, indicating that the proposed system has strong potential as an early warning device to enhance safety in enclosed spaces.
