PEMANFAATAN SMARTPHONE SEBAGAI SARANA TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI DAN KOMUNIKASI BAGI IBU RUMAH TANGGA DALAM KEHIDUPAN SEHARI-HARI

Abstrak

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the digital era has significantly impacted people's lives, including those of housewives. Smartphones serve not only as communication tools but also as means to obtain information, access social media, conduct digital transactions, support education, and facilitate family economic activities. This study aims to analyze how housewives utilize smartphones as ICT tools, identify the benefits gained, and examine the challenges associated with their use. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected via Google Form questionnaires from seven housewives. The results indicate that smartphones have become an integral part of daily activities. The highest level of usage is found in communication, with six out of seven respondents strongly agreeing that smartphones facilitate communication with family, friends, and their social circles. Smartphones are also used to seek information, access social media, make payments and shop online, and support small home-based businesses. Most respondents use their smartphones for 4–6 hours daily. Challenges identified include hoaxes, digital fraud, unstable internet connections, and limited understanding of new features. Therefore, enhancing digital literacy through continuous education and training is essential to ensure that smartphone usage is optimal, productive, safe, and responsible.
